PhD Students

  • Lorenzo SoriLorenzo Sori obtained the degree in Biotechnologies and master degree in Industrial biotechnologies at the University of Milano-Bicocca. His master thesis project was developed at Politecnico di Milano; the research was focused on the development of a multibranched fluorinated compounds, which can be used as dual-mode imaging agents simultaneously active in 19F Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Optical Imaging. In 2018 he started the PhD in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. The research project consists of studying the structural and mechanical properties of an elastomeric protein short peptide dispersions by microscopy, rheology, nano-indentation and tensile strength measurements. These structural studies are corroborated by quantum-mechanical and molecular dynamics analysis.
  • Fototessera2Alessandro Marchetti was born in Milan in 1995. He obtained both his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, where he graduated with a thesis on bicontinuous gels for drug delivery purposes. From November 2019, he joined the SBNLab research group as a PhD student.
  • stradaAlessandro Strada was born in Pavia in 1993. He graduated in Chemistry and he obtained his Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry at the University of Pavia. After two years as research fellow, in November 2019 he started the PhD in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with the National Research Council of Italy.
  • Foto BeatriceBeatrice Lucia Bona was born in Managua in 1995 and was raised in Milan, where she obtained both her bachelor and master of science degrees in Biomedical Engineering (cell, tissue and biotechnology specialization). Her master thesis project was developed at the SupraBioNanoLab and it was focused on the synthesis and characterization of fluorinated theranostic nanovectors for gene delivery in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. In 2020 she started the PhD in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the “Politecnico di Milano” within a project aimed at developing nanosystems for controlled drug release in the diseased heart.
  • Eleonora VeroneseEleonora Veronese was born in Cantù in 1995. She obtained her Master’s degree in Pharmacy and Industrial Pharmacy at the University of Milano working on peptide synthesis for theranostic nanosystems. After a scholarship in the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at University of Milano, in October 2020 she started the PhD in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, joining SupraBioNanoLab research group.
  • Pietro Milesi Immagine profilo suprabionanolab1
Pietro Milesi was born in Milan in 1996. He obtained both his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology at Politecnico di Milano, where he graduated with a thesis on the development of biocompatible nanoformulations containing perfluorocarbons for cell labelling, developed at the SupraBioNano group and in collaboration with the Research Institute of San Raffaele Hospital.
In 2021 he started the PhD in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano with a project aimed at developing anti-tumour drug cocrystals and nanosystems for their release for both in vitro and in vivo applications.
