MINIRES won ERC Proof of Concept

MINIRES is a new compound (bioelastomer) usable in cosmetics and biomedical devices; it is structurally simple and easy to produce at low costs; it takes inspiration from resilin, an elastomeric natural protein which is at the basis of the mechanism of jumping and flying in insects.
This technology was developed by Pierangelo Metrangolo, Francesca Baldelli Bombelli and Andrea Pizzi from the Department of Chemistry, Material and Chemical Engineering "Giulio Natta" of Politecnico di Milano. The project was granted with an European Research Council  Proof-of-Concept (€ 150.000)
